【Product Description】Yu Nu Jian is used to clear stomach heat and nourish the Yin, particularly in cases of gastric acid excess or dryness. Pungent, sweet, slightly warm. Dispels wind and alleviates pain. it is useful for managing conditions like gastritis, acid reflux, or ulcers, where there is excessive stomach acid or mucosal dryness.
The formula’s herbs help to clear heat, reduce acid production, and nourish the stomach lining, reducing symptoms like heartburn and stomach discomfort.
【Main Herb】
Gypsum Fibrosum.
【Flavor and Nature】Sweet, pungent, very cold.
【Properties】Composed primarily of calcium sulfate, with properties that reduce inflammation and heat. Exhibits cooling and soothing effects on tissues.
【Functions】Reduces fever and alleviates heat-related conditions, such as high fever or irritability. May provide relief for skin inflammation and promote healing in cases of burns or ulcers. Can be used to soothe respiratory irritation and reduce inflammation in lung-related conditions.
【Method】
Decoct one dose of the formula with 1.5 zhong of water, and boil it until the volume shrinks to about 70%. The decoction can be taken either warm or cool. (Modern use: use water to decoct the medicinals.)
【Indication】
This formula is indicated for stomach heat and yin deficiency. The symptoms are toothache, headache, loose teeth, gingival bleeding, vexing heat and thirst, a red tongue with a dry yellow coating, xiao ke, and swift digestion with rapid hunger.
