【Macroscopic Features】 

Boju (Bo Chrysanthemum)

Appears as an inverted cone or cylindrical shape, sometimes slightly flattened into a fan-like form, with a diameter of 1.5-3 cm, scattered. The involucre is disc-shaped; bracts are arranged in 3-4 layers, ovate or elliptical, herbaceous, yellow-green or brown-green, pubescent on the outer surface, with membranous margins. The receptacle is hemispherical, without scales or hairs. Ligulate flowers are arranged in multiple layers, female, located peripherally, whitish, stiff, erect, longitudinally folded, scattered with golden yellow glandular spots. Tubular flowers are numerous, bisexual, located centrally, hidden by the ligulate flowers, yellow, with 5-lobed apex. Achenes undeveloped, without pappus. Lightweight, soft, and pliant when fresh; brittle when dry. Fragrant aroma; sweet and slightly bitter taste.

Chuju (Chu Chrysanthemum)

Irregularly spherical or flattened spherical, diameter 1.5-2.5 cm. Ligulate flowers whitish, irregularly twisted, involute, margins wrinkled, occasionally with light brown glandular spots; tubular flowers mostly hidden.

Gongju (Tribute Chrysanthemum)

Flattened spherical or irregularly spherical, diameter 1.5-2.5 cm. Ligulate flowers white or whitish, ascending upward, upper parts reflexed, margins slightly involute and wrinkled, usually lacking glandular spots; tubular flowers sparse, exposed.

Hangju (Hangzhou Chrysanthemum)

Disc-shaped or flattened spherical, diameter 2.5-4 cm, often clustered into connected segments. Ligulate flowers whitish or yellow, spreading or slightly folded, adherent to each other, usually lacking glandular spots; tubular flowers numerous, exposed.

Huaiju (Huai Chrysanthemum)

Irregularly spherical or flattened spherical, diameter 1.5-2.5 cm. Predominantly ligulate flowers, whitish or yellow, irregularly twisted, involute, margins wrinkled, occasionally with glandular spots; tubular flowers mostly hidden.
